I couldn't understand why my notebook was so choppy, with 50% CPU, on some pages in Blue3wide & Blue3 and many other skins. My other PC's had no problems. I noticed in process explorer that there was d3d9.dll!debugsetlevel... shit going on. After trying to reinstall directx, .net, graphic-drivers and all that crap, I desperately tried to compare the pages that worked fine with those that didn't.
AND I FOUND IT!!!
This is the solution: <!-- <texture>#header.image</texture> !--> :)

Somehow #header.image is messing with DirectX in some constellations. Just so you know

Could you post the complete debug message that DX is printing? Maybe it will give some clues what goes wrong.

I have been looking further into this now and found that it had nothing to do with "#header.image ". It seems more like that some .png pictures can cause the problem. I changed in common.picback.video.xml from "<texture>#header.image</texture>" to "<texture>videos_logo.png</texture>" (the same one that is refered to) and got the same bad result. THEN I changed to another picture "<texture>hover_my videos.png</texture>" and VOILA, fast as ever!!!
I guess you guys know what differs in those pictures, and now you know that it can cause problems.

Unfortunately those pictures dont have any info about the cause. Also I have no clue what that debugview.log contains :)

There are a lot of settings when you save a png file. I guess the dev who made the pics might know what differs?

I noticed that even alarm_logo.png works fine while videos_logo.png doesn't and they are very similar.
    Thats strange...

Testing more pictures to see wich are troublesome...
    videos_logo.png
    settings_logo.png
    tetris_logo.png
    togglebutton-off-nofocus.png
    ...so far...

Noticed that it's only in fullscreen the problem exists...

One more weird thing: The menu dialog for selecting skin causes the problem but no other dialogs using the same png's ???

    ...I'll be back ...

Does this only happen on the Toshiba laptop, if so chances are its down to the onboard graphics.

Funnily enough, someone could not get MP to work correctly on the same video chipset 2 days ago.

I'll give the same advice, see if there are any updates BIOS\Drivers available.

Yes, it's only the laptop and updating everything was the first I did, but it didn't help. Obviously there is a function that this chipset cannot coop with. At least not with present drivers. But what function could that be? Only some of the png's cause it, and they don't seem to have any extra features than the others?
