You could try one of these without a fan: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/silent_cooling-t30727.html

It is not as tall as the Ninja.
Ya, I've considered the GeminII but it's too long and the back of my optical drive will touch the heatsink...

If you look at the pictures in my case. My backup plan if it came into contact with the DVD drive would have been to turn it around and have it sicking out the back of the case a bit (by cutting into those fan openings).

Also some DVD drives are shorter than others. So Maybe you can find a drive that wil fit.
I only have one option for the optical drive. I've already purchased the combo BluRay/HD-DVD drive from LG (model # GGC-H20L) and it is rather long, i.e. 189mm. Going out the back is also not an option for me because my dual exhaust fans are right behind the heatsink.

Easy remove the fans ;) You can see I don't have any.

I would rather really not remove the fans. As it is, my HTPC case is very tight on the inside and ventilation will be severely compromised if I remove those 2 60mm exhaust fans. Instead of removing them, I've replaced the stock case fans with Silenx iXtrema Pro Case Fans (1900RPM 12DBA). The Silenx iXtrema fans use nifty rubber silicone mounts and are absolutely silent. When I turn them off, there is no difference in noise level in my system. That's why I wanna leave them: they provide improved ventilation inside the case with little to no noise whatsoever. :)

    Your choice :)

However, I don't have any heat problems without these 2x 60mm fans. I only have 1x 80mm fan in my PSU. Ok my case has a bit more space, but doesn't have air holes in the top like yours.

I don't think you will have a heat problem.

If you did, you could under volt your CPU (which you should do anyway) and also under clock it.
