hello and a question re- tuner card compatibility (1 Viewer)

hi all,

a quick introduction. i am a late 30's father and have an interest in most things audio visual. i stumbled across this site looking for alternate software after recently buying a dvb-t usb tuner.

all works fine with the supplied software - blaze HD TV. however i wanted something with a nice interface and that's how i got to the media portal website.

love the look and feel of the interface however my usb tuner doesn't seem to be supported. is there anyway to get this working?

details of the USB tuner are

Name - MinTV dvb-t
Supplier - Shen Zhen Forward Video Co. in Quandong - China (he he...)

i can't find out what chipset the tuner has - searching on the web i came up with EN 300744/DVB-t and the EC 168 chipset. the vendors website didn't have anything on it.

other thing is that i have the tuner installed and working through Blaze HD TV but nowhere does it list the chipset. all it lists in there in DVB-t USB or similar.

yeah - any info appreciated on how i can get this USB tuner working with Media Portal.

oh - all i have installed at this stage is Media Portal v 0.2.3.0 - nothing else

i go through the wizard and only get as far as the detect tuner.

I would use MP1 RC downloadable from homepage.

uninstall 0.2.3.0 reboot, install downloaded package, select HDTV etc install.

TVServer should automatically find your TVCard if it has bda drivers (most dvb cards do)

i think my card has bda drivers - this driver was quoted on a site i went to (AF9015 BDA driver)... i downloaded this driver as i had lost my original installation disks. as stated earlier it all worked with Blaze HDTV.

i tried your suggestion but unfortunately it didn't work. same deal... no tuner card detected.

some forums suggest meediOS - i'll give that a look.
