I'd really love to ditch WMC, and I'm trying to setup MediaPortal on my HTPC.
I'm using a Hauppauge 1850 card and I'm trying to setup the ClearQAM channels I get over my cable line. Basically just HD local channels, and a few others from the lineup listed here: http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/lineup_web/US:77388#lineup_5186689
First I tried just scanning for channels using the TV-Server configuration, which came back with 750 or so channels, most of them encrypted. I then tested each one, which took forever, and deleted all the encrypted channels. What I'm left with is like 100 or so channels that I have no idea what they are, as each one is listed as "Unknown 4874514.124" or some garbage. I have no intention of going through each channel, trying to figure out what channel it is, and manually renaming it.
What I WANT to do, is use the list from the Silicon Dust site, and manually add the 20 or so channels that I want. Problem is, I have no idea how to manually add these channels using the TV-Server Configuration in MediaPortal. This is how I setup my channels in WMC, and it was really simple to do.
I tried entering the channel number (ie: 68-10) in the "Channel" blank when I click Add... but it doesn't accept that as a valid channel number. The other blanks are for Frequency, Major, Minor, NetworkId, TransponderId, etc. I have no clue what those are.
Can anyone explain to me how I can take the lineup from that SilidonDust site and manually add those channels into MediaPortal, using just the information from that site?
Also how would I setup the EPG to get guide information for the channels? As it is right now with all the Unknown channels it added, no guide information is coming up.
