HELP! can't move position bar with mouse in videos (1 Viewer)

Hi everybody,

I am new to MP but not to HTPC. I have been using a HTPC for years with a gyro mouse (instead of a remote control). Last year I started using Meedio as my preferred HTPC software but since its recent buyout I started passivly searching for alternatives. When I stumbled upon MP I was amazed. When I looked at it last year it was no where near the stage it is now. It blows Meedio out of the water. It would take hours to configure meedio to get the features that MP offers right off the bat. I love the look and the feel. I want to thank everyone who has had a hand in its creation and development.

There is one slight problem though (for me a major one). I use my HTPC to watch mostly movies and love to jump around. SInce all I have is a gyro mouse the fast forward and rewind buttons are of little use to me. In all other programs I simply click a random spot on the position bar and the movie jumps to that spot. I was wondering if there is an option, setting, or patch I could alter to make this work. It is sad having the nice position bar with no functionality. I have found an old patch in this forum for moving position bar with mouse however it is for a very old version and the author states that Frodo has included his own build in new releases. So now I am left wondering if I just missed something.

PLEASE, any help is good help, I love MP so far and have only found this one thing to be a problem so far. I don't want to switch again so soon but without a active position bar for movies I can't function with my mouse. I want to shy away from using an external player because I love the feature where you can minimize the video to a small corner of the screen and don't want to lose that functionality.

Have never read anything about the slider option, purely because MP is so geared up for use with a remote.
I think that you should consider getting a remote for future use, as it will enhance the MP experience.

I think it is a valid request.
I myself prefer using my htpc with keyboard and mouse.

Maybe you could give a link to the forum thread/patch?

Maybe someone wants to look into it. The usage you would like to have is not possible at the moment.

BTW, the functionality of the progress bar is to indicate the position of the movie, you´re at

Hey guys,

Thanks for your speedy reply, its stinks that its not a current feature. I am not sure how to link another post but the subject of the other post was "Mouse Support for Slider Patch." I am not sure how to install it or if it will even work with the current version of MP but I am eager to try it. If someone knows how to install it please let me know. I really like my gyro mouse and find it so much more versitile then a remote because I can hold it free hand (like a remote) and still maintain normal pc functions when neccessary. I really like MP and want to continue using it. If anyone else has any ideas for me please let me know.
