I have space in my HTPC for another TV tuner to match my Leadtek PVR3200H. I would like the new card to meet the following specs:

1. PCI (as I only have 1 left.. the PCI-e is used by the Leadtek);
2. Has at least 1 DVB-T tuner;
3. Has an analogue SVHS input THAT WORKS in MP!!

The most important aspect is the SVHS input that has been proven to work in MP. I cannot get the Leadtek SVHS to work with my AUSTAR cable box (satellite decoder) in MP. :mad:

At this stage I am not worried about price, as my wife is getting so frustrated and confused with the current setup (i.e. must change TV channel and sound to change from HTPC to Austar) that my whole HTPC is under threat as being used for a garden feature (in pieces). :(

I am using MP 1 RC2 with latest SVN and Windows XP SP3 (with dvbfix).

:D ahead!

    Hi!
    I've read that some people are currently having some issues with this card, but I think it's worth having a look at anyway:
    Hauppauge Digital : WinTV-HVR-1300

    Reasons:
    - Hardware encoder (nobody knows the future of software encoders ... )
    - A couple of devs have and use it

    Even so, I'd consider having a simple PVR-150 + a cheap DVB-T usb card - as the hybrid above can not use both tuners at the same time.

    (Oh, and those Leadtek's are a PITA due to many different models w/ almost same name - but different when it comes to capabilities.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

    I had that same card working OK with SelecTV so it should be OK. I couldn't use the S video input though as the picture was crap. I got an OK picture using the Composite input. From memory I used one of the C inputs in the analogue setup of the card. I found the picture was about 95% as good as direct to the SelecTV box. I couldn't get the media blaster to work so it was a bit of a pain having to still use 2 remotes to do anything. I had the card working in mediaportal alongside a Leadtek DTV1000S and a Leadtek PxDTV2300H. I bought the 1000 first and then the 2300 before I realised I needed a hardware MPEG card. (I know read the instructions)

    I have now moved on to using a TWINHAN 1034 sat card and it is working a treat with Select. Don't know if you can do the same with Austar though. The card cost me $211 including CAM and postage (new) so it wasn't a big investment. Being able to change Satellite channels and record direct from the EPG is great however as I said I don't know if you can get it to work with Austar.

    I have ordered a dual DVB-T card to go with my 3200H. I am hoping that I will be able to use the analogue from the hybrid Leadtek and the DVB-T from the new card. I'll let you know how I go.
