HELP ME! Something happened (1 Viewer)

Everything was working but once when I started the program I got a popup message saying:

"enabling (can't remember) mode" and that "in this mode Mediaportal runs very slowly"

After I pressed ok I got a message saying that I should install DX9 SDK for full functionality (or something similar)

Since then I cannot see the interface anymore. I press Alt/Enter to go to windowed mode to be able to close MP

What have I done and how can I undo?

I think the system is running in the software reference device..
this means all rendering is done in software, explainig why MP is slow..

start MP in windowed mode, there should be a menu
(I can't remember the name, but I think File -> renderer or device..)

there you should be able to reselect your hardware device..

Will check tonight at home..

I dont know how but everything came back to normal. I guess the fact that I went through direct3d settings, even without changing anything, did the trick

However I have another question. When I enable VMR9 exclusive mode I get no picture in video playback. I wont even get a black screen. I just select a video to play, nothing happens and the renderer (pressing Shift/!) reports zeros. Can it be that I am using a laptop with a panel that sticks to 60Hz while the videos I am trying to play are PAL 50Hz?
