Hi all i'm having a hard time installing mp for some resion.I'm using win7 32bit i first tried 64 bit but had problems with the sql server,anyway i have installed all the codecs and that and installed streamedmp skin and can get it all running except the tv server i got it to connect once searched channels then it said not connected.Now it just says tc server not connected tryed a dll patch i found then that just says connected then wont go in to the settings and i dont think it is connected hope this makes sense i'v been trying all night to install it.any ideas

Since a few months everyone seems quite eager to test Windows 7.
Many of you also run MediaPortal 1.0.2 on it.

Now testing is always a good thing, but right now i would like to ask you to not create any support nor bugreport threads when running MediaPortal on W7.

Mediaportal 1.0.2 does not support Windows 7 at all.

The reason is that we know that MediaPortal 1.0.2 has quite some major and minor problems on Windows 7 RC1, especially if you have UAC turned on.

We will fix the most issues in the 1.1.0 ALPHA release, but there is still a lot of work to be done (by Microsoft and us) until you can call the combination of Windows 7 and MediaPortal stable and ready for a productive system.

So if you plan to switch your HTPC to W7 RC1 + MediaPortal, then you should better reconsider this decision

i suggest to you to install latest beta release and svn. those are working with Windows 7 32bits

Because it's supported for the 1.1.0 branch

I would definitely recommend trying the 1.1.0 beta. It's got plenty of fixes compared to 1.0.2

You might even consider applying the latest SVN version.

Hi thanks mate i did try it but got stuck trying to install the sql manualy

Try to uninstall all previous versions of MySQL. Then go as far as to remove completely all SQL-related directories. Then do the automated installation.

Hi mate i uninstalled 1.0.2 and and kept sql off the 1.02 install then installed the beta release then updated the TV-Server_weekly-snapshot.exe,svn,and streamedmp and now it all works.The one problem i have noticed is the tv picture has a slight glitche when playing only a bit though do you think it could be a driver issue or that i have the screen res of the graphics card to 24hz.Thanks for all your help.
