Hi, just found this plugin, and the potential of it seems great!

However when I tried it, it didn't quite do what I expected of it (It stretches the video, so everyone looks about twice as fat).
I'm sure that this has something to do with the settings, and at this moment I don't want to try every combi of it to get the results that I want.

What I want is quite simple: when a video is played, just zoom to the max. so no stretching. And as a bonus: take the black bars into consideration when calculating the max. zoom. It doesn't need to fit exactly, just one of the presets (Normal, Original,Zoom or Zoom 14:9) will suffice.
Anyone here has a quick tip (and maybe put it in the wiki) for me?

nope, now it's doing nothing at all (although i see some very minor screen adjustments).
    Attached my settings.

If I manually select zoom (in mediaportal) the image is what I expected IFC to do automatically, instead it kept mediaportal at "normal"

Your settings are absolutely wrong in my eyes.

You set "AR correction" to no/false that means you don't care about "fat people" or "egg heads".
Then you set 4:3 to normal, normal means it won't stretch.

So take the default settings or my lil tweaked one.

I don't mean to whine, but I still don't get it right.
In your config there were a lot of stretch view-modes, which did distort the aspect ratio (despite the "correct aspect ratio" checked)
Now (correct aspect ratio still checked) I have set my view-modes to normal, zoom or original but I think it still stretches, and it does not fit my screen.

For example when viewing a 4:3 video on my 16:9 I want to have a good vertical fit, and black bars left and right. When that 4:3 video turns to 16:9 (with black bars left, right, top and bottom) it should zoom to a good horizontal and vertical fit, without stretching.

If I manually zoom ('S'-key) is the timer for checking reset?

    Hi,

I am still struggling with my settings, however I think I do have a better understanding of what's going on.

Is there some way to make it zoom to "Zoom" if double black bars are detected, and to zoom to "14x9" when single bars are detected? Because if I get that working, I'm a very happy person!

    AW: Help needed with settings

    Marvman:
so now it's a proper time for me to ask for addtional help:
First of all, where is the actual download? (I have 2.0)
    Where is the "One-Click-Configuration?
How can I enter the different modes? (snapshot, reset...). I think I should bring the screenshot tester to work - how?
I cannot find a working config to hide the blackbars (esp. TV and Recs)
Sometimes the upper blackbar disapears but the lower does never.
If useful, I can provide a logshot here.
    Thanx alot

i had all manner of problems with getting the settings to work, and it was a actually a setting in FFDshow which caused the problem. it's a setting which causes FFDshow to resize the video in a similar way to the way this plugin does, and it's enabled by default if you're using SAF codecs. disable this FFDshow setting and suddenly the IFC settings work and make sense.

True, good that you mention it.

But I assume that it doesn't help me with my other problem (define 3 types of zoom for 4:3, "normal", "14x9" and "zoom")
