Hi all

I have the same issue as many I am sure...

I have read the tech spec but with no joy, I have renamed a image to .tbn extension in the music ablum folder and got a .jpg in there however the automatic versions of some come up however I am not sure there all correct.

Can I ask is there not a GraceNote type set up that reads a album, else if you have you not thought about putting one in place, so people can add and share...

I just think it's a shame to have all the software and yet we are left to the default image.

Another thing is, if the music files are read via a different media centre, will the images still be read ie is there a common standard, such as MP3.

I have since tried with another folder, and named the name of the song then .tbn also .jpg and I get different results show on some files and not others and the main folder that contains this in a DIR is not showing anything... Opinions please...

Many thanks Wayne

PS may be you could do the same for the DVD's since I have put mine on to HDD to avoid the kids using them as coffee coasters and frizbees

:D

I have managed to find the search for the image with the right mouse button, however it's still buggy I may add with not all images going into the folders, based on certain images selected.

Hope that helps

Wayne-
I am having some trouble following the ol' stream-of-consciousness post, but here's some comments to your points....

You mention something about a common standard, like MP3, for images. Are you talking about cover art embedded within the MP3 tags (a la iTunes)? That's how I manage my music and cover art. Then I let the database scan (MP Config->music0>music database) extract them back out how it wants them.

For artist images, I use the Audioscrobbler plugin in (MP config->plugins->audioscrobbler->right click, configuration). It'll look through your music database and find the stuff still missing images (the refresh button), and find images for you on last.fm (the lookup button). The works for both the album art and artist images.

Hope this helps.

HI Jason

I am on about album art of each album or song, I have enabled Audioscrobbler plugin as it's now red under the path MP config->plugins->audioscrobbler->right click, configuration

However nothing has changed do I have to do something with MP to see them, as doing it manually is going to take a while....

Thanks Wayne

I have no idea how to update album art while MP is actually running. What I was suggesting was for adding album art from MP configuration. Now that Audioscrobbler is enabled, go into MP config, right click on the plugin, and select "configuration" from the context menu. It'll prompt you for username/password (so you'll have to register at the last.fm web site to do this). Once that is entered, you'll see two more tabs - artis images and album images. These tabs will search your music database, figure out which ones are missing artwork, and search for you.

This does NOT just monitor folder or the music database and download cover / artist art as needed.

I hope this is more clear. I am at work, so not actually looking at the screens...
