I'm trying to add a few buttons to mytvguide.xml so I can navigate from the TV guide to Scheduled TV, Recorded TV & Search TV. I have this working fine and can use it with the mouse but can't find how to move off the TVGuide panel with the keyboard, or more importantly, the remote. I've attached my edited mytvguide.xml, the three buttons are at the bottom.

You can navigate off the TVGuide panel upwards to the day & time spin controls, but again I can't see these actions defined in the skin file.

Anyone any ideas?

:D

No-one any tips? This is still a mystery to me. I've tried all sorts in the skin to be able to navigate using the keyboard or remote to the new buttons, but I can't find out how to do it. I have downloaded the source code to see if I could find any hints in there but I've no idea where to start, I'm kind of assuming that the TVguide control has hard coded stuff, but I cant find it.

You can see the buttons on the screenshot attached, you can select them with the mouse, but not the keyboard or remote. - Another issue is the buttons not changing to the nofocus image when moved off.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

I had a quick play around with it. I could get it to focuses on one button, but then it would not jump to the next one or link to the page when selected. I was jumping from the time spin controls too scheduled button.

So in sort… I was not able to get it working.

Thanks for trying, I too can get the first button to focus when navigating from the time spin control but when you try to activate that button, it's actually the time spin control which is triggered.

I'll continue to dig around the source and see if I can find anything.

I am using an MCE remote and can jump to the TV guide page using the Guide button on the remote, however there is some functionality on the TV guide screen which I would like to see, i.e. buttons to navigate to scheduled TV, recorded TV and search TV. The issue is getting to these buttons from the TV guide panel.

Yeah, it's all hardcoded in GUITvGuideBase.cs so the myTVGuide.xml is limited to labels, preview window & TV Guide panel itself.

I have therefore added code to add Search TV Guide, Scheduled TV & Recorded TV entries on the TV Guide context menu as it's the next best thing.

I'll test this out and upload as a patch if anyone else wants it.

Yes please it would be interesting to have a look at a different setup. Anyway of reducing the number of clicks and easing navigation around MP would be great.

I've uploaded the patch code to SourceForge. I couldn't include the patched WindowsPlugins.dll as it's too big for SF patches so I have attached it to this thread.
