Help with Second Machine (1 Viewer)

Hello All,
Well I have my main machine up and running great (intel duo core 2 2.8ghz with 2gb memory and 1 tb hd) and now I have my second test machine (intel p4 2.4ghz with 512mb memory 160gb hd) going and I have them networked and I can see the drive on the main machine and can play all networked vids (.divx) with media player, divx player and powerdvd 5.0 and have tried powerdvd 8 ultra, once I try to play them with mp I see them in mp but none of them play and yes I made sure in the configuration mp is pointing to powerdvd doesnt work but if I say to use divx player it works..... I dont know were to start looking to fix this, the main machine uses powerdvd 8 ultra and no problem.

What kind of graphic card does your machine have? (DX9 is a requirement for MP)

Hi,

i think I've read same issue in the german part of this forum.
The resolution for the other user was to use UNC-Path, instead driveletters.

So feel free to test with \\mainmachine\sharename instead of x:

It's only a resolution, i've read short time ago.

Will try using that suggestion about mapping the drive and will let you know when I get back to the machine, at work now...

Tried new mapping option and mp sees the movie files just fine but wont play.... movies will play fine in powerdvd,divx, and microsoft media player 11..... dont get it at all, what info do you guys need to help with this problem.

Changed Video Cards from a Asus AH3450 to a Diamond X1050 and started working fine.... Does not sound right to me but a old video card works make Media Portal Play Videos and New Asus AH3450 does Not Play Videos this is the only thing I changed.... any one make sence of this.....

Probably a driver thing. Seen similar things before. Did you use Asus own driver?

yes used driver that came with card..... I like this card has Comp. output on it

had to use a ati 7.4 driver to fix it
