I am new to MediaPortal. I tried MP2, but it would not install, so I installed MP1. It seems to run OK, but I'm having difficulty setting up WebEPG. I been following MediaPortal Wiki > MediaPortal 1 > Setup Guides > TV Setup > TV Guide Setup (EPG) > WebEPG. When I go to IMDB.com TV Listings and click on a channel (CBS KTVN 002), the url is "http://www.imdb.com/tvgrid/2015-10-28/KTVN/". So does this mean that the Site ID is KTVN? When I follow a similar procedure at titantv.com, it shows KTVNDT, which is more like what's in the sample www_imdb_com.xml file. Which is correct?

Also, further on in the Wiki setup guide, it states I should select the Favorites Group under TV Mappings. The drop-down only offers All Channels and blank, and I cannot see haw to create a new group.

Anyway, proceeding according to the guide (and using All Channels), Grab now!, Save, then Import, then Auto Map, then OK, the TV Guide in MP shows correct listings for KTVN-DT. It also shows the same listings for KTVN-2 (I think this must be channel 2.2 - AKA Antenna TV), KRNV-HD, KRXI-HD, and KAME-HD all of which are incorrect. All other channels show "No data available". My "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\WebEPG\grabbers\US\www_imdb_com.xml" is attached. I hope my system specs are view-able; I'm not certain that is working.

Any help setting up WebEPG would be most appreciated!

    From what I've see you specified mapping only for one channel in mapping
    <Channels>
    <Channel id="KTVN-HD" siteId="KTVN"/>
    </Channels>
    I believe when you clicked automapping KRNV-HD, KRXI-HD, and KAME-HD mapped to single imdb site channel you've entered.
    Instruction for imdb grabber look big.
    Did you try http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_..._TV_Setup/4_TV_Guide_Setup_(EPG)/XMLTV_mc2xml as another option?
    Instruction is big too but maybe it will be more simple thah imdb unless US guys like @RonD can give you full mapping for imdb grabber.

    by default MP only makes a "All Channels" channel group that has all your channels, I typically make another group "Favorites" that has the channels I typically use. See wiki http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...ration/TV-Server_Configuration/03_TV_Channels

    For zip=89511 imdb info for Charter Cable, looks like they have 3 KTVN cable channels

    KTVN (channel 002)
    KTVNDT2 (channel 183)
    KTVNDT (channel 782)

    I guess KTVN and KTVNDT are really both the main CBS channel for your area and KTVNDT2 is a sub-channel (Decades?? maybe something else) for your area. For your KTVN (CBS) you can use either KTVN or KTVNDT since they have the same listing info. Finding the mapping between your local ATSC/antenna channels and the imdb listing cable channels can be a bit of a scavenger hunt.

    Like Edalex mentioned, you need to have "channel entry" in the imdb.xml file for each MP channel you use with WebEPG. If you have 50 channels you will need to make an entry for each channel that maps your MP Channel Name to the corresponding imdb channel. I'd suggest starting with 3 or 4 channels to figure out how to get things setup. Once those channels are working you can add the rest of the channels.

    Also, in your question about http://www.imdb.com/tvgrid/2015-10-28/KTVN/ the KTVN is the siteId you need for the channel entry.

    Thanks for the tips. I did a channel mapping (PNG attached) and created a Favorites with 8 channels (PNG attached). I edited www_imdb_com.xml to match (attached), then redid the Grab now!, Save, Import, Auto Map, OK. Now my TV Guide in MP has 8 channels, but only KTVN-DT is correct, 3 others have the same listings and the remaining 4 have no data (PNG attached).

    Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong? Again, many thanks for your time and effort on this!

    Edalex, thanks for your thoughts. I'm going to pursue WebEPG for now. If that doesn't work out, I'll give XMLTV a shot.

    I tried the latest grabber in this thread and it seems to work fine. Did the following

    1. downloaded grabber file, copied to C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\WebEPG\grabbers\US renamed file to www_imdb_com_89511.xml

    2. changed name of 8 of my local never used channels to match the grabber file, put them in Test channel group

    3. Started TV Server Config went to WebEPG > TV Mappings, set group=Test, pressed Import, and see just the 8 channels under EPG Name. Pressed AutoMap, all channels mapped. Had to manually remap METV since I have that in a local Calif imdb grabber. See WebEPG89511.png

    4. Went to WebEPG > General, set Days=2, pressed Save, then GrabNow, WebEPG did download for a minute or so for 8 Channels 454 programs. MP1 EPG shows what I think is correct Reno EPG. Compared a few channels with imdb listings. See EPG89511.png

    One more comment, when doing WebEPG setup/testing, I find it helps to exit/close TV Server Config after you make changes to channels, then start a fresh TV Server Config that does a full/complete reload of all WebEPG grabber info.. Not 100% sure this is needed, but never hurts.

    RonD, it worked! As you suggested, my problems seem attributable to not restarting TV-Server Config after each step.

    A few anomalies, however:
    1. After Import, I had 25 channels shown (see attached "WebEPG Mapping after Import.PNG").
    2. After AutoMap, only one channel (METV) had an entry in the "Channel Name" column (see attached "WebEPG Mapping after Automap.PNG").
    3. When I performed the GrabNow, WeEPG downloaded for a minute or so for 12 channels and 595 programs.

    But when I started MP, the TV Guide (using Favorites) showed only my 8 channels, and all the listings appear to be correct!

    One final question: The reason I modified "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\WebEPG\grabbers\US\www_imdb_com.xml", rather than rename it to "www_imdb_com_89511.xml" as suggested, is that I cannot see how to AutoMap from any file other than the default "www_imdb_com.xml". Could you enlighten me?

    Again, many thanks for you assistance!

    I keep the original www_imdb_com.xml file in the US grabber folder to keep a clean reference copy in case I screwup the file making changes. If I want to make a new www_imdb_com_NNN grabber I copy/paste the www_imdb_com.xml and rename copy to the www_imdb_com_NNN and edit this file. That way I still have a clean "reference" around.

    I've helped a few other people with US grabber file problems and now have 4-5 different grabber files with different zipcodes in the US grabber folder. Between all these files I probably have 50+ channel entries. To test your 89511 channels/imdb grabber, I made a Test channel group with 8 of your channel names. When I pressed "AutoMap" WebEPG scanned all 50+ available channels, found the 8 matching Channel id="KTVN-HD" etc and used this to find the siteId="KTVN" etc EPG mapping info from www_imdb_com_89511.xml. WebEPG ignored the channels in the other imdb grabber files. Since I also have a local METV, I did a manual map to use your grabber file instead of my local-zip grabber.

    In your case, if you renamed your www_imdb_com.xml to www_imdb_com_ANYHTING.xml or ANYNAME.xml, did another AutoMap, WebEPG should find the needed mapping info and work the same. You might need to exit then restart TV Server Config to get the new ANYNAME.xml grabbers loaded

    In your "after" picture I see 3 other channels KRXI-HD, KRNS-46, KRNS-LA are mapped to KRNV-HD, not sure why. Maybe WebEPG is using partial match for channels (start with KR) when it does not find an exact match. If you add channel entries for these channels, WebEPG should get correct mappings.

    RonD: Well, I have completed my www_imdb_com_89511.xml (English channels only) and it works correctly in the TV Guide. It still is showing 19 channels on the TV Mappings tab, and I had to remove some channels which were clearly not needed. I have attached the file in case you'd like to add it to your collection of grabber files. Again many thanks for your assistance and guidance!
