hide thumbnail-less movies in thumbnail view (1 Viewer)

in thumbnail view, i have 24 movies on the screen at a time (3 rows, 8 per row). unfortunately, a bunch don't have thumbnails associated with them. in that case, i'd just assume leave them off the thumbnail view so the display doesn't have all those gaps.

if this can somehow be done, please let me know. otherwise, consider this a bug/suggestion for a future version.

This is not possible. I definitely would not consider this a bug though. Perhaps an enhancement request, but I think this is something we would be unlikely to implement as this is the first time it has been brought up. What are some of the movies you are having rpoblems with though? And what importer scripts are you using? Generally cover art retrieval is very good especially for English speaking users (or perhaps your country of origin in your profile is incorrect?)

There was a feature request about movies with missing thumbnails drawing the movie text in the image area instead, I don't know if its already an item on the todo list. Would that be possible to do?

There are cases that thre are not thumbs available (very old english films or greek films in my case)
I usually add them manualy but if there was a default thumb so there isn`t an empty space in the views i think would be nice addition

Yes this is possible but I am hesitant to add this feature. I think I would rather spend time improving the cover art importer rather than creating work around for when it fails. Ultimately I think the best option is to just have a "no cover" image when a cover is not available. This is already possible and several skins already implement it.

What are some of the movies you guys are having trouble with for posters? And what scraper scripts (for both movie details and cover art) are you using? I know results vary depending on the script, but with IMDb and IMPAwards, I get a 99% hit rate.

No cover is exactly what i mean

I have problems with mainly greek movies but i`ve made my peace with it. It`s not scrapper. It`s just that there aren`t posters and fanart available

Well like I mentioned, just having a placeholder image for all movies without a cover is already possible. You might be able to get some better advice from the skinning sub forum, but you are probably wanting to change the images for these two properties on the facade:

        <imageFolder>image.png</imageFolder>
        <imageFolderFocus>image2.png</imageFolderFocus>

Ultimately though this is a skin issue, not really a plug-in issue.

To be honest i`ve used only streamedMP and my first guess was that it`s empty space.

Out of my 500 movie collection I've had around 10 or so that covers were not found. I just searched the internet for covers and manually added them, took me like 5 mins.
