I have a good installation of MP but when playing back recorded programs (e.g. the tour de france on ITV) i often see the video playback freeze while the audio continues, then the video races to catch up with the audio before playback resumes normally.
Sometimes both the video and audio stall in a stuttering loop together for 3-4 seconds before continuing normally.
I can see the CPU usage on the VFD when this occurs and cpu usage is usually quite high often at 100% even though the system generally idles in MP at perhaps 8% average.
I know it's not the dvr-ms files as if I immediately jump back 15 or 30 seconds after this occurs it will then play the same section without a glitch.
I've trawled the site over the past few days looking for similar posts/issues but have not found anything significant - sorry if i've missed something.
I'm using a 2Ghz P4 laptop processor is this man enough for the job ?
What are the limitations of MP - i've not tried it but should I be able to record 2 channels while watching a recorded program for example ?
is there a way to VIEW the system processes while mp is running ?
hardware spec is in my sig below ;-)
