Hi!

I had the same problem some time ago and I have found a solution.

You must disable the "Fix Scroll Bar" option, next you open MediaPortal, use the arrow keys to center the menu and then exit MediaPortal; it's important that the last menu item selected before exit was the centered one. Then you can enable the "Fix Scrool Bar" option again.
