This happened immediately after my Windows 11 x64 monthly update for November. The update included also cumulative update to .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 and .NET 8.0.21 Security Update.

I open MP2 and I do not get the EPG guide as usual. If I go to Settings > Connectivity > Home Server, I am told that the homer server is "currently disconnected."

The service monitor icon in the system tray is red, but Task Manager tells me that MP2-Server is running. I can preview channels in MP2 TV Configuration fine. I have stopped and restarted MP2-Server several times, and also tried restarting system several times.

Does anyone know what's going on, or how I can reconnect Server and Client?

I only use MP2 for broadcast TV, with my Hauppauge quad tuner card, so it cannot be a matter of internet access.

    Thanks, N,

Same issue here. This also affected IIS server on same pc saying something like 'connection reset...'. I went to windows update history remove updates and started removing 1 update at a time from bottom of list until finally everything started working again. I believe it was KB5007651 update for windows security platform which caused the issue. The first two updates I removed for .Net and cumulative 2025-10 for win 11 reinstalled automatically. For now I have shut off updates. Meanwhile my win 10 machine continues to run with no problems. Another Microsoft Mess!!

Ok, thanks much, Tarrow. Am I understand that MP2 is working for you on your Windows 11 machined, once you undid the updates? I don't have a KB5007651 among today's updates, strangely.

Yes MP2 is still working for me. There were a total of 5 updates offered including 5007651. I deleted them one at a time, rebooting after each deletion, testing MP2, until it began working. 5007651 is now gone, I cannot find it on my PC, the other updates that I deleted have automatically reinstalled and MP2 is still working.

Ok: Got MP2 working, after uninstalling two October updates for Windows 11 24H2 for x64-based Systems. Unfortunately, I did not note the numbers of the updates I uninstalled, but the first was designated a security update, and the second, I believe, a cumulative Windows update. So of the three Windows updates from yesterday, I am left with KB5066835, and MP2 works with that one still installed.

What happens now? I stop updating Windows? Doesn't seem very desirable.

    Good News!!!

Just found this item below, 5 pages already. I also have iis issues. I did have to delete 5066835 and 5065789 before i could delete 5007651. I do use iis for some same PC web pages i created and use and iis is throwing a fit on some hosted pages saying anonymous user not authorized. haven't figured that out yet.

    I Found this:
Microsoft published KB2267602 (Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus) today. This fixes the issue. A reboot is required!

Thanks, Larry. Just to confirm: You've tried it, and MP2 works after the above update? Thanks, N.

    I haven't tested it.
    I use MP1, but sometimes I try to help with MP2 :).
