i have noticed after updating the svn and tv plugin that when i change channels now it does the hourglass waiting thingy which is the green circle thing between the channel changes, is there any way to disable or remove this? i find it a little unclean to have that in the tv part ever channel change.
Thanks

i notice this too (most of the time in combination with the "not responding" title bar), running windows vista and latest svn. (have had this issue ever since my upgrade to vista about 2 weeks ago). worse than that is that MP shows the desktop for about one second before displaying the video.

at least it does not hurt functionality, so it's merely a cosmetic thing.

I notice the wait indicator when change chnls, personaly I like it, lets you know that something is happening! :) Havn't seen the these other problems though. I run MP in fullscreen all the time.

its strange cause i never had this , only recently in the last day when i updated the svn, normally it only showed up in say radio when trying to get the stream or when i'm accessing the weather plugin. Its handy but when you have farily quick channel changes it just pops up constantly between the changes. would be nice to turn it off in tv

Yeah I totally dig the wait cursor too.
Maybe it should be a on/off toggleable setting in the myTV-plugin (mp config) ?
Also I think the wait cursor should be used in a number of other situations.

ex. my GF is kind of newbish in regard to MP. I asked her to change channel on another group on a multiseat client over wireless 54 mbit network.
She hit return, the list with channels was rendered fine.
Then she hit the left arrow key in order to go to the next TV group - This was the problem, the list was taking a while to render (b/c of 54mbit wireless), so she began hitting the arrow key once again.

If there was some kind of wait cursor this wouldn't happen.
This is only one situation out of many.

i just realized, that my problem has to do with the _vista_ wait cursor, while all others are talking about the newly added wait-symbol, which i find a very good addition to show the user that something is happening. ideally one wouldn't need it because MP should be fast enough - but e.g. for me it takes about 4 seconds to change a scrambled channel (before my provider scrambled all programs, i had <1 second channel change with tvserver3).

point being that i like the wait animation.

Yeah, the MP wait cursor should be implanted in every plugin! E.g. if you have over 100 movies with imdb info and thumbnails it will take a some second to load even if you have a fast system, especially if you load from a network drive.

Personally I really like the new waiting cursor, it gives a good visual indication that something is happening.

I don't see any hourglass/wait symbol in my installation, and it drives me crazy, particularly when I am waiting for a new list, screen or menu. If I don't see anything happening, I wonder if my (RC) button-press was recognized. Do I have to upgrade to TVE3 to get this? Is it only there when waiting for video, or does it also appear while waiting for lists, or MP3 files to load?
