How do I add another tuner card? (1 Viewer)

I currently have a pvr-150mce tuner card and just got another one and installed it, but can't seem to get it to show up. or atleast i don't think it's showing up.

The device manager said both cards are working properly. I went to the tv section and clicked on add card, but in the drop-down box it only lists one card. I'm assuming it should list both cards even though the other one is already used.

Also, do i need to have the second card autotune? when i did that, i just had double channels.

I am on windows xp sp2

no.. it will only list cards that are currently not configured in MP

so the one that is listed is the new card.

no you don't need to autotune the new card... just map the existing tunes channels to the new one

How does the recording work then? I thought that i'd have to choose what card to use when scheduling recordings but didn't see any options to change the card.

Or does it automatically switch to the priority 2 card if something is already scheduled on the first card?

if you have only 2 cards then it will use the next free tuner to record.

so if you are viewing tv using card 1, it will use card 2 to record, and vice versa.

oh, just to be clear, how do I map the channels to the new tuner?

go into the config tool

television > tv channels > tv cards

you will see a drop down box.. choose the card that has the channels on the left side.. and move them over to the right side
