I have forgotten my username and i have lost the registration emails from a badly prepared re-format.

How can i find out my username that corresponds to my email?

Or failing that can i have my username 'cleared' so i can re-register with my main email address?

think he once had a nick, forgot it and now had to re-register with new nick. But could not use main e-mail, maybe because registration allows only one registration for the same e-mail adress.
