How do I ignore 'The' when sorting artists? (1 Viewer)

In music all the artists that have 'The' in their name are clumped together. For instance I'd like 'The Cult' to be listed with the C's not the T's. I see in the setup for music database there is a checkbox that would seem to imply that it would ignore words like 'The' but it doesn't do anything.

Are you in database view instead of shares view ? You might need to rescan your share, not sure about this though...

I was in shares view. I didn't see a 'database' view but changing it to 'artist view' did the trick. Thanks for letting me know where to look! But now I think I opened up a world of hurt - wow what a mess. It looks like all me compilation albums messed things up plus some incorrectly tagged stuff. Looks like I'll be spending some quality time with MP3TAG.
