How do I record in H264 or other formats? (1 Viewer)

I've just got Media Portal 1.1.0.0 RC6 up and running after a bit of trial and error today.

Could somebody please explain how I can record the telly in a format other than transport Stream (.ts) formats?

I was hoping to record in either H264 or AVI but unfortunately I seem to only have the option of a ts file when I run the TV Server Configuration tool.

I have looked at the Wiki and a screen shot with guidance but the screen shot differs from what I actually have.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Sorry, its impossible. Only ts recordings are allowed in tvserver.
You can transcode it to what you want using external apps

Look at MCEBuddy, set encoding type, allow a reasonable delay before transcoding, pretty sure you will not want every single recording saved, so I suggest 15 days.

Thanks for the heads up.

I had 45 tv shows that needed converting and were taking up almost 64Gb of space on one of my drives.

And yes, I keep everything that I record.
