I'm using XP SP3, MP v.0.2.3.0 and the Streamzap remote+IR receiver. Drivers are installed and pressing buttons on the remote sends keystrokes to the OS.

How do I change the MP keys for fast forward, back etc. to match the buttons/keys sent by the remote?

I go Start > Programs > MediaPortal > MediaPortal Configuration

How do I switch to Advanced mode?

In MP Config, General > Keyboard shortcuts, I cannot seem to interact with pre-defined shortcuts or change them.

What is current stable version for Windows?

To get back to your original request - mapping remote keys - I suggest the MCE Replacement plugin. Look in the plugins section for MCE Replacement.
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mce-replacement-plugin-165/latest-test-version-mce-replacement-plugin-15793/

Specifically, the functionality you are looking for is to re-map a non-MCE remote to MCE keys. The plugin documentation is really quite good, so I won't go into details here. Essentially, you tell it "when I send this command from my existing remote, interpret it as this MCE remote command". So you can use ANY remote you want.

I suggest that if you go this route, any further questions regarding that plugin get posted in that plugin forum for better response.

Finally got some time to sit down and install the MCE Replacement Plugin... only to find that it is incompatible with the version of MP I'm using (0.2.3.0).
(During installation, there was a mention of "SVN" -- you could install with or without -- what's SVN?)
The plugin page claims there documentation in the .ZIP, but that's untrue. The .ZIP only contains the installer .EXE, nothing further.

Unfortunately the plugin won't be developed further -- there's an explanation at this thread: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mce-replacement-plugin-165/mce-replacement-driver-obsolete-29024/

Also, there's a mention of the eHome driver that supplants the MCE Replacement one, but I can't find it in the plugins > Input section. What is the eHome driver and where do I get it?
