How do you set up a MCE Remote (2 Viewers)

Without any other software installed does the receiver light up when you press a button if so, try selecting under remote section HID see what works and then repeat using sceneo.

Wondering if this is a Dell or HP model remote.

Well I don't see anything on my MCE remote that says its a Dell or HP remote. On the battery compartment cover it has the following numbers:
RC1534509/008
3139 238 12111
Made in China
HK06 04551 A 000238 LF
Inside the battery compartment has the following numbers:
IECRO6/AA/UM-3/1.5V

When I press any button on the MCE remote, a red LED light will correspond to every key press on the extender.
I will go to the HID section and sceneo and see if I can get this working.
I will post back with my results.

Well it still doesn't work.
I made the changes in the HID section and sceneo and I even bypassed using the extender and just pointed my remote to the IR sensor coming from my TV card.
Again it doesn't look like a problem with the remote itself, because I can see that the red led on the extender blinks every time I press a button.
Could it possibly be that my TV card is not compatible with the MCE remote ?
My TV card is listed at the beginning of my post.

I think this is the problem. With a few exceptions (like Hauppauge) MP doesn't directly support IR input from TV tuner IR inputs, reason being that the tuners aren't necessarily installed in the same PC that MediaPortal is installed on. For that reason most people that use an MC remote have a dedicated USB receiver (the eHome thingee that Ray mentioned earlier). You either need to get one of those or possibly try installing IRSS, Eventghost or simlar and see if those other bits of software can support receiving IR input from your tuner. To be completely honest I'd strongly recommend you get the USB receiver - it will be much more software agnostic than an IR input on a tuner card (which uses proprietary interfaces that software may or may not support, often depending on whether the tuner manufacturer is willing to make the documentation available).

Can anyone suggest a USB IR receiver.

Says it works with all M$ media center versions, so looking good, sadly no one will know for sure until its plugged in and recognised as ehome receiver.

Well I'm not going to take any other chances with remotes so I think I will order this one, which comes with the remote and IR receiver.
So hopefully this will work.
