How does Moving Pictures handle local fanart? (1 Viewer)

I have a fanart image and poster image in each of my individual movies directories. They are named either "fanart.jpg", "<movie name>-fanart.jpg" (for fanart) and "folder.jpg" for posters. I have Moving Pictures configured to search for these files during import, but I was wondering exactly how Moving Pictures handles these files, in particular, does it simply make a link to the local file or does it place a copy of the file in the Moving Pictures database directory.

The reason I ask is because, when I look at the individual details for each imported movie, Moving Pictures says the fanart image is located at "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\MovingPictures\Backdrops\FullSize\" rather in the local movies directory where all my preferred fanart/posters are stored. Is Moving Pictures actually using my image files, or is it still downloading it's own versions?

Cheers, Rich

thanks the the reply mitiok2008, that means it is likely using all my existing fanart and posters... good news.

Cheers

i was actually wondering if there was a way to automatically make moving pictures save the new backdrops and covers into my movie folders as well, it'd make rebuilding a fair bit easier.

sorry, I'm not sure if I understand you. Do you mean - "If I put new backdrop or cover to the movie folder, will it add it to actuals backdrops or covers?"
If Yes, I think it's nice suggestion.

well i don't expect it to be constantly scanning my movie folder for changes. but that would be nice.

what i'd like is when i'm setting up moving pictures via config and downloading 1.4 gig worth of backdrops and movie covers, to have the option to save those backdrops and covers into x:/movies/movie name aswell as C:\Documents and Settings\blah blah\Back drops\FullSize\

i know i could copy these over individually, after the scan has finished to ensure they'd all be picked up next time, but how hard would it be to implement in the plugin?

i'm not sure if this sums it up better, the plugin can currently read fanart from the movie folders, i'd like it to be able to write fanart there aswell. (hopefully it'd lead to less downloading when rebuilding or updating in the future.)
