Generally Moving Pictures relies on the operating system to tell it when there are new files in a watched path. The only problem is that this occasionally fails for network attached storage. To deal with this, you can either enable a "manual scan" button that can be used in the GUI or you can tell Moving Pictures to rescan every so often on a timer.
