Sorry for bothering but I am trying to understand who streams are handled by TVE3...

as I told I want to use it in the house of a friend of mine with 5 rooms and I want to understand the stream handling of the server...

possible scenario:

room1: RTL
room2: SAT1
room3: N24
room4: VOX
room5: ORF

and I am receiving them all through DVB-T, SAT1 and N24 are in the same Bouquet, the others are different Groups..

So the server will need in this case 4 DVB-T Tuners and open 5 Streams?

What happens if a sixth room will connect and wants to see one of the channels that are already streamed???

Will the server try to open a new stream or will it connect any new client to the already used one??

Please help... or where can I find any documentation????

Yep. It will stream the already timeshifted channel. So, no prob :)

    to be sure..

sorry for asking so stupid .. but I haven't found a documentation

    1) the tuner provides a bouquet for example with four channels

    2) the servers starts to timeshift one channel e.g. RTL as soon a client requests it

    3) the server provides the timeshifted channel as Stream(1) for RTL and client(1)

    4) as soon as a second, third ... client requests the same channel independent streams were generated e.g. Stream(2), Stream(3) etc.

so for my understanding I can open as many Streams (1...n) for one channel provided from the tuner

but can any client timeshift independently in the stream? e.g. client(2) goes to lunch and presses "pause" will that affect the other streams? what happens ? is there a maximum time he can pause? ??

But isn't there any description for that?

how many streams per channel are possible?

and is there a limit to the number of channels tve3 can split out of a bouquet?

I know a lot of questions of a newbie.. but the wiki doesn't tell..

    sorry

and thanks a lot for answers
