If you only use Kodi as Client, there are not that much as the main advantages MP2 has are the centralized database for all media, not only TV. Main advantage for Kodi users in my opinion is the use of SQLite instead of a full blown SQL Server. SQLite is faster and much more reliable and it did not need an extra service/program to be running... But if you want to use (at least some) MP2 clients too you will get a lot of advantages. So you only need to add your media sources one time and they are available instantly for all clients. This includes the watched status and the position where you have stopped watching. So you can start to watch a movie in living room and somewhere in the middle you can stop playback, go to bedroom and continue there on the exact position where you've stopped in living room. And MP2 Client has a Picture in Picture function, not only limited to TV. As example you can watch a video during a commercial brake and have an eye on live TV so you don't miss the end of the commercial brake... Aside this the video playback quality of MP (no matter if MP1 or MP2) is better a lot compared to Kodi on Windows. It's the same as if you were using the dead DS Player version of Kodi...
