Hi

I have a few directories under x:\Films called e.g

Filmname\filmname-CD1.avi
Filmname\filmname-CD2.avi

Named as mentioned in the forums for stacked AVIs.

When I navigate to Filmname and hit OK I get a message saying stacked AVIs found and an animated image appears which I can select the lowest or uppermost CD image (presumably the upper one is CD1???).

If I select either one it doesn't play.

Other directories containing only a single file play that avi file perfectly.

Have I missed some config. Have searche the forum. Cant find it explained.

Maybe there is a setting somewhere which makes it play stacked AVIs rather than just teasing me with the possibility.

Hi Kev,

What you're seeing is really weird. The stacked AVI part of things is working like it's supposed to - you're right, the first CD is CD #1.

There is no reason why it shouldn't play - unless something seriously is bugged, and I know it works fine for me.

So, I'd suggest maybe that there is a codec problem for the file you are using?

Does it play outside of MP?

Also, if you just slightly rename the files, so that MP doesn't pick them up as a stacked AVI, and navigate to them in MP, do they play correctly then?

I think the issue is more likely to be a codec config issue, rather than an issue with stacked AVI's.

many thanks coopers.

I'll look harder at what is going on.

Maybe when the film is split into 2 CDs it aquires a format slightly different from a single AVI. I'll see what codec is being used and investigate further.
