How many Tuners are supported by TV Server (1 Viewer)

is there a limit for the amount of the tuner boards supported by TV Server?

Okay for Boards with PCI-Interface.. the mainboard is the limit ..

but what about FireWire??? is there a limit ... ??

I don't know of any limit in the code.

But I imagine your hard disk, or memory would put a pretty solid limit on things.

What do you have in mind?

some crazy ideas

it is just as I am doing/planing that four our house-community .. there are 5 flats each with 3-5 rooms and I am thinking about to centralize TV and Recording and the rest somewhere in the cellar... and when I am looking at my server it has only 4 slots... but with Firewire I can connect theoretically 64.000 Devices ;-) I just want to avoid to have to many servers that are power consumptive and use FireWire Receivers in empte PC Cases within a 3.5" Frame

You'd need to find someone who's tried something like this.

But I would suggest starting small and scaling it up until you are happy or hit a barrier.

Also you need to consider the bandwidth of the firewire bus (Especially if you plan to distribute HDTV).
This is also true for the NIC/ethernet of course.
