How to access MP information (epg info etc) (1 Viewer)

Hi there,

I'm looking for a way to read information from the MP client, e.g.:
- what's running (TV Channel, Video, Music etc)
- EPG-information for current tv channel (shown on "details")
- video: name, duration, description

I want to write me a small program that shows those information in a separate window I want to put on the second screen (which is a zalman hd160xt tft)

How can I access those data? Is there in interface (TCP or whatever).
I'm sure there already exists a plugin that reads information from MP which I could use to learn how to do it.

I'm a complete programming newbie but want to take this as a chance to learn.

Unfortunately there's no API description... Can someone give me a clue where to start?

there is a plugin that does almost exactly what i want. but unfortunately no sources are available...

dvbviewer (alternative closed source program) offers a COM interface which makes accessing data very easy.
is there something similar in media portal?

Have you actually tried to reference any dll's in your project?

There are loads of functions,

Search the forum for Plugin development.

And no I don't have any examples.
