Don't forget you can always add something like the windows calculator as a 'prevent standby' process to powerscheduler - http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/141_Configuration/TV-Server_Configuration/13_Plugins/Power_Scheduler#Processes - then just run that whenever you need to keep the PC awake.
