It's nice to have an opportunity to learn a new language (such as Python), but time becomes the issue. I'm glad to hear that MP is at least pretty stable. When one is doing testing, one doesn't sit and watch entire movies so it's hard to get a feel for reliability. I've had MP hang as a zombied process quite a few times, but I write it off to playing around with settings too much. Valdi, you mention Rogers. We're on Rogers too (I live just outside of Waterloo) and I've been trying to get off of cable. Unfortunately I have no options right now to have my cable Internet service moved elsewhere as no one seems to have a 3rd-party contract to provide cable Internet services in my area (and DSL is just too slow). I've gone to VOIP phone and should hopefully get rid of cable TV within the next couple of months. I have nothing against Rogers per se, they provide excellent service, but with my son's cell phone plan, I'm making a "car payment" to Rogers every month and it's just gone over the top. We've also had issues in the past with getting $200+ added to our bill because my son went over his text-messaging limit. It seems that kids simply can't stop when they get a warning about hitting a limit.
