Hi folks,

I had MP 1.0 installed and some problems with tvserver engine (100% CPU while recording DVB-T). So I went to testing latest weekly SVNs. The was not a good idea, any weekly either crashed my EPG or my recordings folder was empty.

So I went back to 1.0 stable, but now my EPG is not working there too.

So I want to completely uninstall tv server and epg, but of course without losing my (filter) settings etc.

Where are all these settings stored and how can I backup and restore them?

I tried forum search but could not find concrete answers.

Thanks a lot
Hippo

    Definitely would like to see the logs and machine specs, fill in my system in user cp and enable, then you will not be asked stupid question again.

    Yes, i can provide logs in the evening, since I'm at work right now.

    I'm using the EPG Grabber by TV Server (which is working, since it displays "Grabbing EPG" in manual control status).

    But please keep in mind that my request was to know, where are all my user settings stored and not, how I can fix my EPG issues ;)

    If I can't fix the EPG issue myself then I will post in another or new EPG problem thread :)

    What do you mean by filter settings :confused:, you can just start over by uninstalling TVServer and when it say's remove all settings, chose yes, this does not affect MediaPortal, just TVServer and gives a clean SQL db to work with.

    All other settings are stored in one or the other of these locations.

    XP = C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Appdata\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal

    Vista = C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal

    Thanks!

    I want to remove both MP and TVServer, so I dont't want to loose my MP settings.
    Completly remove my MP and incremently resetup the MP without having to enter the filter and codecs in MP is my goal :)

    So all MP settings (filter, codecs etc) are stored in documents and settings?

    Sure are, you can just copy the whole folder over to a backup device.
