    If you're using the MCE remote, the "Clear" button sends the [Esc] key by default. That works for many emulators.

    Well, start with installing the programa IR Suite, search for it on this forum and be sure to install the program translator. It's so easy you'll find yourself how to config it.

    I downloaded it, installed it and looked at the config before my previous post. I just have no clue what the process.exe is you're talking about... I know it has something to do with killing processes, but how... That's what I hope you're gonna tell me... ;)

    For now I'm gonna try and map a macro (ALT+F4). I'm still curious about that process.exe solution though.

    Emph: of all emulators I use only two can be closed that way, which is why I'm looking for an additonal solution.

    Hoi,

    see the attached file; it works like this:

    process.exe -k zsnes.exe
    => closes the program

    So you have to create a macro for a program, eg. zsnes
    then you have to map a button to a program
    the program is process.exe
    the options are -k zsnes.exe

    I use Closemul, works fine with more emulators.

    Hey guys I just saw this thread and I hve gotten my remote to close all the emulators I use. I use girder to have it perform 2 actions. 1) close window - this works with almost all emulators so you dont have to use Alt+f4 or esc, now this doesnt reall work for higher end emulators i.e. epsxe, pcsx2 etc. so for those I use 2) executing a bat file that uses taskkill to stop the emulators that are higher end. If you use taskkill for low end emulators i.e. FCEUltra or Kega it wont save your games for you. That is what I do hpe that helps anyone.

    You can do the same with EventGhost (It is free).

    The fact that it works for all of you has me confused. I use the IR server suite and if i map buttons for running processes, mediaportal will still intercept the keypresses. it appears to only do this when i quit an emulator, but it is very annoying. If you close the emulator with the stop key, another instance will be started, crashing most emulators and often also mediaportal. Also, mapping ALT+F4 usually means F4 is pressed in MP as well and the emulator menu goes up a tier. i am stumped why it does all this tbh.

    You should have the remote just do a close window option, and that way it will close the emulator window and not mediaportal. I also just map the key to close the window to a key on the remote I dont use (like the * key or #). For higher end emulators (epsxe, nulldc) the close window might close the window but the process might still run. I made a bat file to kill the process everytime I press the key so if one of the programs is open than it kills it, if not nothing happens except a command box opens and closes in a sec.
