How to configure remote control (2 Viewers)

Hi all
I am a new user and am trying to get to grips with MP. One issue I have is with my MCE remote control. The cursor buttons work with MP but few others do inc pause play etc. I thought this remote would work by default. What is the best way to get the buttons to control MP how I want to? I have looked at the Wiki but to be honest I do not follow the guidance. Can any one help

Made it work fine for me. You can also configure each button on your remote seperately with this plugin...

I installed this extension. I have begun to configure the buttons on my remote but I still can't get it to work. I tried change tv channel up and down first to make sure I was doing it right. I map the buttons and actions to change the channel up and down and save it. When I try this action in TV, it still changes the "all groups" option.
What am I doing wrong or missing?
