I was playing music in the background of showing a picture slideshow today and whenever a new song came on, a popup appeared over everything else to tell me information i don't want to know. Is there an easy way to disable the Now Playing popup?

If there is a setting, I couldn't find it. I went poking int eh XML and I couldn't get it either...but I guess I'll keep trying.

Thanks

you can do it with a little cheat: Open the xml file for that popup and remove all graphic references. Set all other coordinates outside the screen limit.

No, unless you know how to comment that out.
Open the xml file for that popup and remove all graphic references. Set all other coordinates outside the screen limit.
That would work, and would also disable that particular popup dialog from working anywhere in mp. The dialog file in question (i believe) is DialogNotify.xml. I don't regularly use much beyond tv, music and video in mp. But from what i use, the zap2it update notification and the no signal message in full screen tv wouldn't be seen. I'm sure others could come up with better examples.

I found an easy way to disable the popup. Instead of just placing the MP3 file in the folder with the pictures I always create a playlist labled folder.m3u even if I only have one song associated with that slideshow. Using the playlist seems to surpress the popup. It also lets me avoid renaming the MP3 files
