Hi,

how can I achieve exactly 23,976 hz in windows XP?

I tried nvidia custom resolutions and powerstrip, but could not achieve this. In Vista and 7 it is selectable in the nvidia control panel, but not in XP. Otherwise I will get out of sync audio. And I don't want to use reclock!

:D

I'm looking for the answer to this question too. I also have a Intel setup with an ATI 4550 running on XP.

Will be following this thread with great interest!

I have an Nvidia card, and I made a custom resolution with manual timing, to get it to work.

EDIT: Probably should mention that I had to go through a number of old drivers to get it to work also, the newest just didn't cut it.
I think I'm running with 192... or something like that.

Can you check the driver version and the timings and post them? :D

Are you running XP?

I just installed Windows 7. Still not able to select 23p...

I never had problems in windows vista or 7 with 23,976 hz. Did you install the nvidia drivers or just the windows 7 drivers?

I found this on an NVIDIA forum and it works perfect for me!

Create a custom resolution with this parameters:

The proper timing info that I found to get 23.976 playback is as follows:

active pixels horizontal: 1920 vertical: 1080
front porch horizontal: 638 vertical: 4
sync width horizontal: 44 vertical: 5
total pixels horizontal: 2750 vertical: 1124
    polarity horizontal: positive vertical: positive
    refresh rate: 23.978]

I tried ReClock before but the sound got async cause i accepted bitstream formats. With this settings no ReClock is needed for me. The only problem is if u also have exact 24p movies.. but i dont have many of them.

PS: I got Vista 32-bit and the newest NVIDIA gfx driver: Version 257.21. GFX is Ge-Force 9600M GT. Hope it also works with XP!
