How to get MP to recognise my Nebula DigiTV Card? (1 Viewer)

I am really stumped by MediaPortal as the resources on this website seem to be either overly simplistic or terribly over my head with nothing in between.

Reading the manual it loses me at the "Add/Edit Capture Cards" part, as there seems to be no on-screen option for me to do that. Where is that option supposed to be?

The only card shown in the TV Server config is labelled "RadioWebStream Card (builtin)".

I have checked the Capturecardsdefinitions xml document and my card's details are in there. The card is also working with Nebula's own software, but again, MP fails to recognise it in the configuration.

What am I doing wrong?

Problems with TV card

Hi decorativeed,

Welcome in the MP community.
Please specify your system in the "edit system specification" so we have more information about your system.
I have two questions to you:
1. Did you installed "DVB-fix" ?
2.Did you installed DBA driver for your card?
I recommend you to use some of those TV cards:
Digital Everywhere
Hauppauge
AVerMedia
Pinnacle
Technotrend
Twinhan
KNC One
Technisat
Dvico
FlyTVmm
If you use those cards you save a lot of time and troubles

Thanks guys, I'll give that a try, I did not have the BDA drivers installed.

Those other cards may well be easier to use (although I'd argue that Pinnacle cards are awfully troublesome and that Pinnacle have the absolute worst support and customer service I have ever had the misfortune to come across), but I own a Nebula card, not any of those others. It's working well on it's own but I've heard good things about MP so I thought I'd give it a go.

Also, I have filled out the system specs fields in the User CP, but I don't know why it's not showing.

If you edit your profile there is selection option to hide or show your system spec.

There is nothing wrong with the Nebula card. I have two of them working quite happily in my machine. The only thing you to note is that if you have the BDA drivers installed the Nebula DigiTV application will only work for a couple of minutes. However since DigiTV is not being updated and MediaPortal is that should not be a problem.
