How to get started.. Dead green noob (1 Viewer)

I've used Webscheduler for years but felt this looked nicer and you can watch tv as well. But don't find it as user friendly for setting up. Initially had a problem and modified the hosts file to get it working again (TVServer failed). After reading the manuals and faqs I still couldn't find a. how to setup your tv channels for where you are (in my case Perth, Western Australia) and b. how then to scrape an epg. In TV server all channels are blank (obviously) but couldn't see a menu option to search for channels. I'm running Vista on a 3GB core 2 duo with 4 GB Ram, Radeon 4550 and 2 DVICO HD DVB-T cards.

fisrt, welcome to the forums.

The first question you have is about how to configure the chanels. Are you using the TV Server version or the standalone version?
The method is different each way. If you installed the latest version 1.02 from the website, then you have the TV Server version, so check out the TV Server manual.

To add the channels, open up the TV Server configuration and go to the TV Cards. Then right click on a card and choose the region you are in and click Autoscan.
This will help you get the stations scanned and working.

To go further, it would help to know how many TV cards you have, if it's one or two or a two in one option, as well as knowing the make and model of the card.

Report back on how you go from there and then we can look at mapping channels to a card and getting the EPG.
