Sorry if this shows my stupidity or "noobness", but I can't seem to get any of my video to use my NVIDIA GeForce 7300GS for hardware acceleration. If I use VLC or MS MediaPlayer I can adjust my Gamma and color setting using the NVIDIA console. But it is obvious that when I use the internal video player I am not getting any control or acceleration from my GPU.

What am I missing. I've played with Codec and Post Processing Filter settings in both the Video and DVD player sections but no luck. (However I am happy to say on an unrealted note I have gotten 5.1 via my SPDIF to work using the filters)

I've seen a lot of posts mentioning the use of the GPU, but I can't find details of how to get it working.

Any help is appreciated! :D

you don't just need pure video, you can also use any of a number of other codecs.
Install PowerDVD or WinDVD (even the trial versions) and their codecs will become available.
I do agree with Zappza, though that the nvidia codecs are the best. I just get annoyed that if you buy their hardware the codecs should be free so wanted to point out there were other options as well. I think everyone has a lite edition of PowerDVD from when they bought a DVD RW drive at home.

Thanks guys for the ideas...I actually have WinDVD installed and have selected the Intervideo video and audio codecs and no luck. Still cannot adjust them using the NVIDIA console.

Hmmm...I've looked in there...and just looked again. Under Directshow Filter Control I looked in each Video codec listed and I do not see a tick box for "use HW Acceleration"

I'm assuming you are referring to 0.2.3.0

Fow WinDVD it is called "Enable DxVA" - and it is definitely there in v0.2.3.0RC1 as I have just checked ... ;)

Not at all...I assumed that was it, but when it didn't work I thought I must be wrong. I have WinDVD 5 installed on the system now. I'm gonna try to download a trial of ver 8 and see if that helps.
