How to migrate from XP to Vista (1 Viewer)

I'm sorry if this has been asked before...

i'm about to migrate from xp to vista (new htpc, no driver support for xp!). i don't want to create every database and thumb import etc from scratch, so i was thinking of installing mediaportal and the plugins i use on vista, and then copy the databases and thumb-folders to the respective paths in vista.

would this work? is there something else i have to consider? for instance, i was wondering if in the tvseries plugin, the letters of the watched import paths must be same like in the old installation in order for the old database to work properly in new setup

Is this going to be pretty much a htpc only, then consider,

Make your Vista's admin account acts like in XP - Neowin Forums

this makes Vista behave the same as XP, without the infernal prompts.

Regarding db\thumbs, as long as the path to your files are the same should work.
