glad things are working better. What setting did you change? Is this in MePo Config or TV Server Config?

Maybe I flipped this setting a long time ago, MePo has a gazillion^2 settings you can adjust. It might help other people with similar problems if this fixed your setup.

It's in MP configuration, Startup/Resume Settings, and called exactly this : 'Apply workaround to fix MediaPortal freezing on resume on some systems'.
I had it set in 1.1.0.0, but with no real justification, decided to leave it out in 1.2.3 (until now). I've done 6 or more recordings with the prior troublesome setup, and no problem recurrence.
