Nope, the remote itself sends those learned commands if trained. No blaster needed.It could always be, that your remote uses code combinations that can't be learned by the MCE remote. Best try to train it with another device (e.g. amplifier) to test if there's a general problem with your remote or if it's just a problem that it cannot read those "special" codes.
