No problem Ralph, did you even manage to get CCC to load, because if Windows is not behaving itself, then not much chance for a stable system with Mediaportal
the ATI drivers seem to do their job, MP runs perfect, also win XPSP3. The screen sometimes flickers in the beginning-what a hassle LGW2261 VP. Especially when HDMI is used. Happens also at a win7 system.
It just struggles with the hibernate function-which is BASICS in my eyes.
Something different than CCC must be the cause for not waking up properly since I did a lot of trials send the PC to hibernate and wake it up again between the installations. What a conicidence-last night there was a new version of CCC at the AMD site
11.7-but even that didn't work.
In the moment I'm fed up with all this ...maybe live with the hassle for awhile and try later to get it fixed. I guess that win7 will fix part of the problems but I do not want to know whats messed up there. Maybe wait for win8 which sure will need new hardware just putting the hassle to the next level...
pal for your help.
PS: It's not just a waste of time dealing with things like that-you learn a lot of things which are really not necessary for a better life.
AW: How to restart PC out of standby with MCE Remote
Hi guys,
now that I solved the issues I would like to share the information with you.
I installed win 7 ultimate. Then I disabled windows Media Center so that I can use the big green button of my remote to work with MP .
Also my brand new monitor WS2261VP was exchanged by LG since it did all kinds of blackscreens and flickering...I double checked with a PS3 and my daughters laptop to make sure it is causing the trouble.
By accident I installed Catalyst Center CCC from AMD ATI again (actually installed all drivers manually) which is a complete desaster.
There is no chance to open this program to use the graphic card functions. Instead I use what Win 7 has to offer. The drivers are working OK though. I wonder if somebody actually is capable to use this CCC-program at all.
I will live with this situation maybe some day this will be improved. In the future I will stay away from ATI grphics, bet you.
In the moment and thats new the TV SERVER COULD NOT BE STARTED sometimes not always I wonder how serious this is. It did happen yesterday a few times, especially when it resumed from hibernate.
I will post logs later.
