How to speed up Haupauge PVR 350? *FIXED* (2 Viewers)

I'm using one of the latest CVS versions. I'm not content with the speed of channel switching and initialization of the PVR350.

It takes several seconds for it to turn on when entering My TV.

I'm using latest official Hauppauge drivers and I have tried the various reg. database tweaks found at the Cask of Armadillo site.

I'm using TV with default Mpeg2dec codecs and they seem to be fastest overall.

Anybody care to share some ideas/tips?

Thanks!

Same issue here. It takes like 3-5 seconds to switch the channel.
That has to do with MediaPortal. When timeshifting is turned on, then it always takes longer, but I think, that the switching time should be shorter anyway, when timeshifting is turned off.

So there is almost nothing you can do about that right now.

It's labled timeshifting on the My TV screen.

The data stream is buffered to the hard drive when this is enabled. It allows you to pause TV, fast forward, rewind, etc... live tv.
Since the software has to create, delete, access, etc... files it slows down channel changes. If you are just surfing, disable it and you can change channels faster
.
A currently requested feature is to enable timeshifting if the pause button is pressed. That would be much quicker than going back to the My TV screen and enabling timeshifting if you find a program you want to use it on.

Oh timeshifting. Well I have tried it both on and off.

But it's not helping much. I think the Hauppauge should be just as responsive as switching channels on the TV (and turning it on and off). Isn't this possible in some way?

Is any PVR users usgin the shspvr.com drivers with any improvements?

    Hi,

did you set ZapOSD delay to 0? Default is 2 (seconds).
    Configure->Movies->OSD (TAB)
    Zap OnScreen Display: Zap Delay

Zapping with timeshift off, is quite fast with my PVR 350. Timeshift on has some delay....

I am using the drivers from SHSPVR, but cannot compare to original drivers, because I did not use some for a long time. So I have no experience with the original ones. ;) Those from SHSPVR work very good in my eyes.

    HTH, Flip.

Thanks, but I'm pretty sure ZapOSD is at 0 (not home ATM)

But I'll give SHSPVR drivers a try tomorrow. Anything I should know in connection to that?
