Just open services (Start - Run - services.msc) and change the services from "Manual" to "Automatic".
    IIRC, the relevant services are:
    Windows Media Center Receiver Service
    and
    Windows Media Center Scheduler Service
    at least under Windows 7.

Yeah changed it to Automatic but just got errors when trying to even start it manually. Used "remove windows features" to remove Media Centre and put it back on again and all fine now. :)

    Hi,

disabling the MCE Services didn`t work for me...the best and easiest way is to disable the Media Center feature inside the system configuration "Programs and Functions --> Add/Remove Windows features --> Media features" just uncheck the "Media Center entry"

It's not a virus, just user compiled exe which executes link in starting exe folder named "run" and some schizoid antiviruses just rings the bell without reason.

It's just suspicious behavior which exe file do (some viruses do things like that).

:) if you're scared you can do the same thing easily.

    Download http://download.cnet.com/Bat-To-Exe-Converter/3000-2069_4-10555897.html

and compile bat file with one line inside:

    C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.exe

    or whenever your MP is

and rename exe file as ehshell.exe and replace original windows file (ofc backup original first) :).

We have had numerous reports of our files on this website having a virus inside, so far not one has been found to actually be infected,.

BTW that's not a challenge to anyone out there to write one, as we do take security seriously, and would take down any potential threat quickly.
