    Hi Robert

Question 1 how do i close Mp Tv when i want to do something else on the pc (web browse run an app )
So I'm guessing that you're watching TV in fullscreen and you want to be able to get to your desktop. Press the alt and enter/return keys together to go to windowed mode - useful for watching TV while you get other stuff done. Press them again to go back to full screen mode. If you want to close completely then use alt and F4 together. You should be able to map those actions to keys on your remote if you prefer to use the remote, and you can also change the startup mode to always be windowed mode ("start MediaPortal in fullscreen mode" setting is in MP configuratioin under General->Startup/Resume Settings.

Question 2 How do i turn the pc off at night (at the moment i just press the power button on the wmc remote and the pc goes to sleep)
Not sure exactly what you mean unless you mean that you want to completely shut down the computer. For that I use EventGhost and map a remote key to the complete system shutdown/hibernate action. The button action can be active all the time, or only when you have certain applications open. EventGhost is awesome. :)

Thanks for the reply, in Q 2 i just want to finish watching Tv at night and switch everything to sleep so following your answer i don't need to do anything with Mp at the end ( i had been stopping the tv service by pressing stop twice then closing down Mp by the X on the home page )

    Hi again

Yeah, no need to stop the TV service - it can handle power events. If you are going to leave it running just make sure you use a static IP address. If your router gives your computer a different IP address when it wakes up then that can cause trouble for both the database and the TV service. Some tuners also give trouble after resuming from sleep/hibernate - not able to tune or scan, or sometimes disappearing from Windows entirely. There is nothing we can do about that (they're driver issues) apart from possibly delaying tuner detection. You can find that setting in TV Server configuration in the general section.
