How to: Use Sony Ericsson T610 as Media center remote I am a fan of free and open source software. That is how I came across Team Media Portal. And this is a wonderful software. :thx: Here is what I did to use my existing Sony Ericsson T610 mobile phone as a remote for media portal. (I had to do this because I dont have a TV connection - dont want one, and no TV tuner card with remote) 1 - Download the Floats Mobile Agent from http://fma.sourceforge.net. 2 - Connect this to my Sony T610 mobile. FMA is well designed to work with Sony Ericsson mobile phones. 3 - Start up team media portal on my pc. 4 - Start up the "Mouse+" item from the menu on my Sony T610. (This is a menu that automatically is loaded on the mobile phone when the bluetooth connection is established using the Floats Mobile Agent software) 5 - Use the keys for navigation as shown below:
2 for scroll up 5 for scroll down 4 for left 6 for right 0 for enter
6 - If I exit the "Mouse+" menu item and come to the main menu on my mobile phone, there is an item called "master volume". Here I can adjust the volume also. So now we have a complete media center pc - absolutely free - free media center software - team media portal - free remote control - Sony Ericsson T610 mobile with FMA (Floats Mobile Agent) My laptop already had bluetooth built-in. If yours does not, then you might have to buy a bluetooth dongle adapter. I found this interesting and thought that it might help some. Feel free to contact me with suggestions, ideas or questions.
