Hi all

I have been using winlirc plugin normally until MediaPortal 1.0 RC1. With MP 0.2.3, winlirc plugin worked correctly, but with the new version, in the configuration window of the plugin, the commands are not shown and it's impossible to assign commands from the remote to mediaportal.

My question is if someone has fixed this or if someone else is experiencing this issue.

I'm trying to use winlirc with UICE but it's not the same.

If anyone has any other solution, I will apreciate it a lot.

Thanks

I have tried winlirc a looooong time ago. Can't remember much about it. I am now using IRServerSuite to handle my remote AND IR blasting. Maybe you can look if it will work for your situation.

    Thanks for the info !

Can you tell me how you configured those programs ? just a quick list of steps maybe... I have spent a lot of time trying to configure it,I think that it doesn't recognize signals form winlirc...

    Thanks in advance

Can't remember everything now, but lets give it a short go:

    Install

Disable remote in MP Config (IR Server will handle it)

    Run Input Service Config
Activate MCE Receiver and transmitter (I am using MS MCE)

    MP Config
Activate MP Blast Zone Plugin for IR Server
Activate MP Control plugin for IR Server

    TV Server Config
    Activate TV3 Blaster plugin
    Do STB setup
    Test

Well, for the moment, I have replaced the winlirc plugin with a program called UICE, works with a lot of remote and services, included Winlirc, it's easy to use and if anyone needs any help, just let me know...

UICE takes remote actions and simulates keystrokes, window actions and a lot of more options...

    Cheers

I've actually managed to get the newest WinLIRC plugin working with MP 1.0RC2.
I couldn't figure out how the configuration dialog works (what happened? I remember this plugin being very easy to configure, and I also remember it having a checkbox to start WinLIRC if it's not running) and all I got were .NET errors and wound up having to edit the WinLIRC_Plugin.xml manually.
The format for the guts of this XML file is: <CMD>name_winlirc_will_send|command_from_right_pane</CMD>.

Sure thing, it should be attached. It lives in [media portal]\plugins\process.
The word to the left of the pipe is the name I gave the button in WinLIRC, the right is the command name (taken from the configuration dialog).
The only thing I don't have working is showing info from the My Videos screen (and most of the playlist stuff, but I don't use it).

thank you very much for the file but unfortunatly it doesnt seems to work for me... :(

i have put it in the folder as you said after modifying it with my key names but it doesnt seems to work. The winlirc plugin i use is the latest i seen on the page (file name: WinLIRC3_Plugin_DLL_only_for_MP_RC 0.2.0RC3.zip) is this right. there is allready a winlircmap.xml file in the folder should yours be incorporated somehow into that one? not sure what to do...

going to try using autohotkey script but if you have any more info please let me know
